A series of lectures aiming to spread knowledge about ecology and environmental human rights was held at the German-Kazakh University and supported by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The lecture called “The main ideas and directions of Ecophilosophy” by professor Felix Ekardt took place online on September 15, from 13:00-16:00, with the ZOOM platform. Felix Ekardt is the head and founder of the Research Unit on Sustainability and Climate Policy based in Leipzig and Berlin. The professor’s activities are related to sustainability research in the humanities sphere.

Discussions during the meeting included a look at the controversial issues identified by the speaker and participants themselves, as well as the Q&A session with answers to participants’ questions afterwards.

The following topics were covered during the lecture:

• Environmental human rights;

• Foundations of universal ethics;

• Ethics of liberal discourse;

• Foundations of global climate policy, and others.
